✈️ Flight Information

Are international flights included?

• No, international flights are not included in the tour price and must be arranged separately. If you’d like help researching flights, please don't hesitate to contact us at hello@yaluu.com.au.

Which airport should I fly into and out of?

• All guests should arrive and depart via Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo.

Are airport transfers included?

• Yes. Complimentary airport transfers are provided at the start and end of each tour.

• Please note that transfers are only between the airport and Yaluu’s selected accommodations.

🏨 Accommodation

What type of hotels are included?

• We partner with well-reviewed 4-star hotels offering great locations, comfort, and hospitality. In areas without 4-star options, we book the best available alternatives. Some adventure tours may also feature premium tented camps to enhance the experience.

Can I book a private room?

• Yes. While all tours are based on twin-share accommodation with a same-gender traveller, private rooms can be requested for an additional supplement.

💳 Booking & Payments

How do I book a tour?

• You can reserve your spot by contacting us via our website or emailing hello@yaluu.com.au. Once your tour is confirmed, we’ll issue an invoice for secure payment.

Is the deposit refundable?

• Deposits are non-refundable but fully transferable to a future Yaluu trip if you can’t travel as planned.

What are the payment terms?

• A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required at the time of booking.

• The remaining balance is due 30 days before departure.

• If you’re booking within 30 days of travel, full payment is required upfront.

❌ Cancellation & Refund Policy

If you cancel your trip:

• More than 30 days prior: Deposit is retained, balance refunded.

• 15–30 days prior: 50% of the tour price refunded.

• Less than 15 days: No refund.

• If we cancel the tour: You’ll receive a full refund, including your deposit, in case of cancellation due to unforeseen events (e.g. weather, road closures).

• Refunds are processed within 14 days via your original payment method.

🛂 Travel Documentation & Entry Requirements

Do I need a visa for Sri Lanka?

• Yes. Most travellers need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) and a passport valid for at least six months beyond travel dates. Please check your country’s current visa requirements.

Are vaccinations required?

• We recommend checking with your doctor for up-to-date travel health advice. Vaccines for hepatitis, typhoid, and tetanus are commonly suggested.

What transport do you use during the tour?

• We use private, air-conditioned vehicles ranging from cars to coaches depending on group size.

• All vehicles are operated by professional local drivers.

Will there be a guide?

• Yes. All tours are led by experienced, English-speaking guides certified by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

What kind of meals are included?

• Expect a rich variety—from street food to fine dining—showcasing Sri Lanka’s authentic cuisine and culinary culture.

Are dietary requirements accommodated?

• Absolutely. We cater to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs. Please inform us of your preferences in advance.

How many people are in a group?

• Yaluu tours are designed for small, intimate groups ranging from 4 to 12 travellers.

Can I join as a solo traveller?

• Yes! Solo travellers are always welcome.

• You can join a group tour or request a private trip for a more personalized experience.

Do you offer customized tours?

• Yes. If you'd like a tailored itinerary, select ‘Custom Package’ in the Contact Us form.

Are entrance fees included?

• Yes. All scheduled entry fees and national park charges are included unless specified otherwise.

Is there a fitness requirement?

• Most tours require a moderate fitness level. Activities like the Sigiriya Rock climb or village walks involve walking or stair climbs.

Can I add optional activities or extend my stay?

• Certainly. Additional excursions and trip extensions can be arranged during or after booking.

💰 Currency, Payments & Tipping

What’s the local currency?

• The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR). Bring AUD, USD, or other major currencies to exchange locally.

• Credit cards are accepted in urban hotels and restaurants, but cash is recommended for small vendors and rural areas.

Is tipping expected?

Tipping is not included in tour prices.

• Temple visits: Dress modestly. Shoulders and knees must be covered.

• Wildlife safaris: Conducted in open jeeps. Sightings depend on natural conditions.

• Sigiriya Rock: Steep but manageable with breaks—moderate fitness recommended.

• Train rides & cultural shows: May occasionally change times due to local conditions.

• Weather: Hill country is cooler; coastal regions are humid.

• Village tours: Include bullock cart rides and light trekking—wear comfortable gear.

• Cash: Limited card facilities in small towns—carry cash for incidentals.

• Respect: Always be mindful of cultural customs, especially in rural and religious settings.
